Our Trust

The Clown Doctors New Zealand Charitable Trust was established on July 24th 2009 and is an artistic organisation with a social responsibility.  We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of performance and service to the community on an ongoing basis – free of charge for hospitals.

All trustees, management and the artists are committed and engaged in a wide range of permanent activities in order to achieve the following objectives:

- To promote the use of laughter as an aid in various circumstances

- To motivate, give psychological support and promote the care and complement the therapy of the sick or suffering in clinics and hospitals.

- To encourage imagination, creativity, talent, learning, communication and the joy of life among children, adults, senior citizens and the disabled, especially those who are ill or in need.

- When requested from hospital staff and if appropriate, we are happy to encourage or distract patients and help them to feel more comfortable during unpleasant treatments or procedures.

- To provide information on the healing power of laughter and a positive and cheerful attitude to life, under all circumstances, especially during illness and in crisis or other difficult situations.

- To promote and research the use of humour, especially in the form of artistic and entertaining performances, as an enhancement to therapy during the recovery process.
